Squads

• Tiny Mite: 5-7 years old

• Mitey-Mite: 7-9 years old

• Junior PeeWee: 8-11 years old

• PeeWee: 9-11 years old

• Junior Midget: 10-13 years old

 

Format

Squads will cheer on Friday night or Saturday for a Liberty Blue Jays or Eagles football team at either the Heart of America Complex in Independence or at north of the river home games. The regular season consists of 9-10 games, plus any post-season bowl games that our football teams may qualify for.

 

Competition

All squads will compete in the Heart of America League Competition. The Junior PeeWee, PeeWee, and Junior Midget squads will also have the opportunity to compete in sub-regional, regional, and national competitions, if they qualify at each level.

 

Uniforms

Fee includes shoes, shell, skirt, midrif, poms, warm-ups (jacket/pants), bow, socks, and briefs.  Girls keep gear after season.  

 

Safety

Pop Warner has established a leadership role in youth cheer by requiring all head coaches to pass a coaching education course. All new head and assistant coaches are required to take the course. We also require re-testing every three years, so coaches who pass the course in 2010 are required to re-take the course for this season. Additionally, cheer coaches receive hands-on training during a regional clinic held locally each year.
